Refocusing this website
If you’ve been a follower of this blog in the past, you know that it has been inactive for a long time. When I moved from Virginia to Maryland in 2016, I didn’t have a job. I created this website primarily as a way to try to put my name and work out there so that I could get speaking invitations. But in 2017 I started my job as a core faculty member at St. Mary’s Ecumenical Institute in Baltimore. In the years since, the combination of work and family life has made it challenging to continue this blog.
I considered canceling this website altogether. However, I’ve decided instead to try refocusing it a bit and see how it goes. I’ve accepted that it is just not feasible for me to produce extensive, original content regularly, but I hope instead use this site to share news about my work, resources and links to interesting content, and perhaps occasionally some short thoughts about the Bible and its content and context. Sharing brief tidbits of interest will feel less overwhelming than the pressure to regularly publish fully formed essays as I was trying to do at the start.
Although this will be different than what I intended at the beginning, I hope you will stick around and see how this goes with me!

Yay! I’m so glad you’re picking this up again! I’ve been in a similar boat: I have all of these ideas for content but making the time to actually create is not feasible, especially during the school year,
Thanks, Marie! Yes, the challenge is real.
I’m glad you’re back, brother. I encourage you to stay on track. God bless.
